Ana & Family

Whoa. Haven’t been here in a while and I apologize for missing in action lately! I have had a lot on my plate since I finished my thesis (as well as my undergrad in art studio — woo!) but I just finished editing photos of a returning client, Ana, with her sister and mother and wanted to share some of the photos from our shoot together.

A couple of weeks ago, we went up to the Sandias (can you tell it’s my favorite place close to town?) to do an outdoor spring photo shoot. It was perfect weather and we had a great time taking pictures together and enjoying the warm spring day. Hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the warm spring weather!

Jordon || Out West

This blog post is a little bit overdue but I wanted to take the time to post some photos that I did with this wonderful guy, my younger brother Jordon. He’s been riding for several years now and he’s so passionate about it. He loves the thrill of riding, the excitement in trying new routes, and he’s definitely not afraid to try big jumps across the mesa. Although he has bumped his head a few times (among other injuries) he never gives up on what he loves. We’re lucky living out here in the desert because we get the wide open spaces to travel in, explore, and find beauty in. A couple of months ago he took me out to a beautiful place out West and we spent the evening taking some portraits and exploring the area. It was a wonderful day and I’m glad I was able to go this cool dude.

Courtney || Desert Shoot

I’ve known Courtney for a couple of years now, but it was only recently that I was able to get together with her and take her to the foothills to do a little photo shoot with her. It was such a gorgeous day outside and the sun was setting so beautifully over the horizon. We collaborated on our style ideas, mixed and matched a few things and headed to the location. Courtney is such a sweet and fun girl to hang around and I would by lying if I said I didn’t have a great time photographing her and spending the evening with her. This was her first time modeling or having photos taken of her and even though she may have said she was nervous, I think she did a beautiful job! Here are some photos from our shoot. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

A Sunday with Kim

Early in February I met up with Kim to have an afternoon photo shoot. I have known Kim for several years but it wasn’t until this past fall that we were able to reconnect after a few years of not seeing each other. She had offered to model for me if I ever needed a model and I couldn’t refuse her offer. She’s a warm spirited, cheerful, kind, talented and overall lovely girl. She’s also a photographer and graphic designer and you can check out her work at her website here. I had originally planned just doing a shoot with her in a few coffee shops around town (I always thought of her as a coffee lover so I thought it would fit well with her) but then I told her I thought the foothills would be a great addition to our shoot as well. And my, what a perfect decision that was! The weather happened to be warm and inviting and the sunset was golden and gorgeous. It was one of the most fun and relaxing shoots I’ve had in a while and enjoyed it so much. Here are a few from our shoot together — there were so many I loved from the shoot so it was hard to pick my favorites!
By the way, we went to Limonata, this wonderful little Italian coffee shop in Nob Hill. You can check them out here. They’re so friendly and their coffee, espresso, cappuccino and Italian pastries are quite tasty!

Alyssa || In-home Shoot

The first time I officially “met” Alyssa was in early November, just a few months ago. I say “met” in quotations because I had always seen her on UNM campus but never actually knew who she was. Before I was an art major, I was studying music performance and I would always see her in the halls and around the music building. This past November, I was able to meet her, witness her beautiful violin talents, and was welcomed in her home for a celebration after her honor’s performance. I always knew she had such a great style; wonderfully patterned dresses and skirts, delicate beautiful curls and such a natural presence. It wasn’t until I was placed in her home that I fell in love with it all. The old record player in the corner, the relaxing atmosphere from the blue walls, the vases and tables decorated with dying flowers (a true favorite aesthetic of mine), and cute little horse lights draping across the mantle….I loved every detail of it. Naturally, I had to ask to photograph her and especially in her awesome house.
Here are a few photos from our shoot. Enjoy.
